This is where tradition, magic, handcrafts, and beauty unite! Visit the brand-new Barriecito location and experience a hands-on carving painting workshop assisted by a local expert!

 

Barriecito: A unique workshop where you will hop on a ride of imagination and magical moments, learning about a traditional and unique handcraft in Mexico, the "Alebrije", magical animals painted in colorful ways. You will get the opportunity to receive a canvas carving made by Mexican artisans, and a local expert will show you how to paint it in the traditional style. And you will take your creation home as a memento of your magical interaction with the Mexican Culture.

• The tour is wheelchair accessible (Note: if a van with a lift is required, it can be used upon request and with an extra charge)

Highlights:

• Alebrijes is a unique and traditional artwork famous in Mexico. These are hand-made wooden carvings that are painted in a particular way.

• Each guest receives a blank canvas-like carving that will later be painted in the traditional style

• Alebrijes are mythological animals that may have parts of different animals and even parts of imaginary creatures, that make incredible mythical creatures full of color and history

• Clothes that can get stained with paint
